Jewellery Sizing

What makes us stand out from the crowd is our ability to create bespoke jewellery just for you. Here is a general overview on how to measure for your desired pieces.

Please note the accuracy of your measurements is down to you if ordering online. Of course if you would like a specific length we are more than happy to cater to your needs. Please be aware that should you need the item altering due to changing your mind once you receive the product, any postage and altering changes will be applicable at your own cost.

Ring Sizing

All rings made by Monty’s are made to UK ring sizes. Sizes are measured alphabetically, starting from A (the smallest) to Z+6. Half sizes are also available to ensure the perfect fit.

When measuring your ring size, there are some things to be aware of.

  • Your fingers will change size slightly, with temperature and physical activity having an effect. If your hands are cold, your fingers can be up to half a size smaller.
  • Rings with a wide band may require you to size up by up to one or two sizes. Please bear this in mind when choosing your rings, including stacking rings.

How to find your ring size

The best and most accurate way is to visit your local jeweller. Feel free to pop into store to be sized, or alternatively you can purchase a ring sizer from our store.

Ordering a special ring size

If you would like to order a ring size that isn’t listed on our website, please reach out via our contact form or come into store. We can then confirm whether we are able to make your selected ring in your chosen size.

Necklaces

The length of necklace you choose may depend on various factors. You may feel you’d like a slightly longer length necklace if making a statement to go with a specific outfit you have in mind, or even a shorter necklace if you’d like something delicate and dainty. Use the sizing guide attached to help you choose what works for you.

Bracelets

We usually say that the average size bracelet to fit a females wrist is between 7 and 8 inches. Although as we all come in different shapes and sizes we ask that you double check this by wrapping a measuring tape around your wrist and adding an extra 1-1.5” for general comfort.

If measuring for a bangle we ask that you measure around your hand in a specific way. You will need to position it as if putting on a mitten and measuring around the widest point of your hand for the bangle to slide over, this tends to be at the thumb joint. You can also use a strip of paper, mark it where the size is correct and then measure it against a ruler. You won’t need to add any additional inches like you would if measuring just your wrist.

Bangles

Below is our bangle size guide, which can help you to understand which of our bangle sizes will be the best fit for you.

Children’s Sizes

When it comes to measuring for a child, we recommend using the same techniques as listed above for adults. If the item is being bought as a gift for instance, below is a general guide for age related sizes but of course all children grow in varying rates.

Safety note: Due to any risk of a choking hazard we DO NOT recommend giving jewellery to children under the age of 3 years old and suggest caution for those aged 3-5. We do not recommend allowing a child to wear jewellery unsupervised or allow them to wear it whilst sleeping.
